Had very high hopes when I signed up with Gregory and Kayla’s Profit Pandas, but it turned out they were just looking to cash out.

For about 3 months we worked to build up my Google ads, being told it could take up to 6 and to trust the process. We talked about my business and theirs, and I recall specifically a conversation about the parable of the man who loves to fish. The moral is that building something into infinity to release yourself to do the activity you wanted all along is useless if you are already able to do that thing as you please (in this case, fishing). Why -if you are good at fishing and you enjoy it now- would you build a business around fishing to then get the margin to let yourself go fishing, if you can already do it now? Gregory mentioned he saw himself in that story in the work they were doing with PP.

Then one day, after several thousand had been spent with no return just yet (but I honestly did trust they had my best interest at heart) they pulled the rug out. They said they’d sold the practice to some NY firm, and they’d be done in a couple weeks; no personal message, just a blanket email. This was wildly antithetical to the ethos I had understood them to have all along, and it left me with some new random account manager. Having not seen any results anyway up to that point, the decision to leave was easy. For others for whom perhaps the service was working, that decision could go a different way.

Either way, I’ll away from G&K in new endeavors now knowing the divergence between the way they present themselves and the way they actually think of their clients as mere assets to bolster a sale. And I’d also stay away from this business as it stands now after understanding that the transition was, in my experience, haphazard. After having such a personal relationship, I would just get all these canned emails from the new manager trying to build rapport in an annoying, corporate way.

So, for potential customers, now you know where this business came from, and now you also know how it is run now. And this wasn’t simply an interpersonal issue, for in 3 months, we only got one lead that -due to poor sales skills perhaps- didn’t close. Nothing else.
