I warn you do not use this company. I originally rang Quick Pest Control Ltd in June 2023 because I heard animal movements in the cavity wall in our kitchen. Malik, came promptly on Monday 26 June. At the time I was in a fragile state as my husband had had a major operation to remove a tumour from his pituitary gland and we were due to go to France for 4 weeks the following week to allow him to convalesce. I did not want to leave the house with an infestation problem and I did not have the energy to get other quotes.Malik sensed my fragile state and tried to completely exploit me. He implied we had rats and said this would require a 2 stage treatment- stage one £750 plus VAT to deal with the immediate issue and stage 2 £1000 plus VAT to guarantee no return for 2 years. In the end we paid £800 plus VAT for stage one with the understanding that we would pay £900 for stage 2. When I returned from holiday, I realised that I had been thoroughly exploited. I spoke to Malik and he said he would sort it and send someone around. Dave then came. Dave was excellent and trustworthy and did the thorough examination that Malik should have done but revealed that everything that Malik had told me was a lie. To summarise my complaint:1. I was overcharged even on the initial payment. Haringey Council charges £160 for three visits.I did ask for a refund for part of the payment but after serveral phone calls and emails I had to give up.2. Malik pointed to an area where there was soil on the ground in the front of the cellar and said this was proof we had rats. This misinformation cemented my desire to get quick action and pay the fee he demanded. Dave subsequently explained that this was just soil washed through the grill under our front door and there was no evidence of rats in the house.3. Malik also pointed to a pile of rubble at the back under the kitchen units as the point where the rats or mice were accessing the kitchen.. I later asked our builder about this and he explained it was solid concrete here and impossible for a mouse or rat to access at this point. The rubble was just left over from the building work. Malik should have know this. Either he has no structural knowledge so should not do this job or this was further evidence of him exploiting me knowingly.4. Malik put some chemicals around the house but left me no information as to where these had been placed. This is extremely bad practice and dangerous. Although we don’t have children living with us, the grandchildren do visit.5. Malik failed to identify where the mice actually came in from outside the house. And no doubt he would have taken a further £900 off me had I not realised I was being exploited.
