I bought this extender and started unscrewing the nuts upwards and messing around with it, thinking the tension is adjusted at the bottom, and started to regret my purchase.I hit up the customer support line and told them the issues I was facing, that it felt loose/disjointed. They told me "DO NOT UNSCREW THE KNURLED NUTS." Screwing everything back together to the base and following the instructions made all the difference. The device feels tight and sturdy ever since.I'd say the design of this device is prone to user error, based on my experience with the knurled nuts, which might explain some of the negative reviews. It almost seems like it needs to come with a big caution sticker that says "DO NOT UNSCREW THE KNURLED NUTS," because it feels very intuitive to want to. I am definitely seeing some added growth since my correction which corresponds to the addition of bars.. I will update as I progress.
