Before I signed up I spoke with the salesman and explained that I didn't have a typical W-2 job and so my financial situation was a bit more complicated. I sent him my last two years tax returns which he forwarded to his tax team, and they assured me they could find savings. I signed up and it was over a month before I could set up a call. However, that call was just another sales call and nothing substantive was discussed. Finally, I was able to schedule a 30 minute session with a cpa to go over my docs. The call lasted about 2 minutes and it was clear this guy either didn't know what to do or there was nothing he could do for me. From certain things he said, I don't think he had actually reviewed the docs I sent. The day after the call that lasted just two minutes, I got an email saying they needed more docs even though I confirmed with the CPA that they had all the docs they needed. They didn't even specify what docs they were asking for. Despite marketing themselves as providing "customized" financial and tax planning, Range is set up to provide off the shelf advice. That might be helpful for people who have traditional situations, but then again, those people could probably get that advice with a very small amount of research.
