Maya pulled off the impossible…

Maya from recovery divers pulled off something impossible. I dropped my wedding ring in an Amsterdam canal by mistake at 4am. I was devastated. I had lost hope immediately and was reconciling my loss. My friends read up online and found that fire department had helped people. We called them but they refused to help. Same ensued with waternet canal service. We couldn’t reach anyone and there seemed to be no hope.Then I found recovery divers in a search somehow. It was hard to find out about them but I thought I’ll text them in vain. I texted them, filled a form and slept. I got a call at 8am from this purest soul Maya. She was so kind in the first conversation itself. She told me that finding a ring is a very hard thing and estimated chances to be 50%. This was a really high chance for me and I asked her to take permissions from the authorities to dive. The cost was 200€ which is very less for the cost and permissions they had to take in order to be able to dive. She was a volunteer for this non-profit and this didn’t include any remuneration for her efforts.2pm the same day, she was present at the site to attempt the dive. She was so kind from the very first moment, and set my expectations right. She came with all the diving gear and was ready to dive. She would have searched my ring for an hour for no remuneration at all, this just melted me inside. In her first attempt, she came out with the ring. This was impossible, absolutely impossible. In my head the chances were less than 1%, but she did it in 2 minutes.She is the best European person I have met and will remember her forever. Can’t recommend them enough. Their success rate is 99%, I wish authorities recommend them to thousands of people like me who lose things in canals on a daily basis.Thanks for everything Maya, you are a blessing from God.
