Taiwan is a wonderful country and this tour took in the best of it - it was well-organised and paced; it was thoughtful and we were looked after well.However, we ended up with a guide and a driver which we hadn't requested – we had specifically said we wanted to travel independently – and this was not made clear in any of the accompanying documentation. I should emphasise that once there we realised we had to go along with it, and the guide was brilliant and added highly positively to the experience, but the point is that the company told us it was independent and were not open about the fact that it wasn't.Also two major parts of the itinerary didn't happen - a boat trip (which as described would have been impossible) and, disappointingly, a cooking course.
