Avoid like the plague!I used RRC for my broken dishwasher. I paid a £30 non-refundable deposit for inspection. The engineer arrived, said a part needed replacing and that he would be back in the next couple of days. Great, I thought.A couple of days later I didn't hear back from RRC so I gave them a call to see how they were progressing. The woman on the phone said to me 'It's only been 2 days, surely you're not so lazy to do the washing up yourself for a change'. I couldn't believe it! When I asked what made her say that, she said the engineer had mentioned I was the 'fat, lazy type'. What on earth?Obviously I cancelled the repair then and there. RRC kept the £30 which was fine, but then they tried to charge me for the part they had ordered that they said I had refused, even though I didn't know they had even bought the part! The bill was £340 for the part, £90 for engineer's time, £60 for cancelled booking, plus £75 'admin fee'. All with VAT charged on top was £678, about twice as much as a new dishwasher!Clearly RRC were just trying it on because they stopped bothering me after I told them how ridiculous the charge was.I would advise anyone considering using RRC to avoid at all costs. They are exactly the contractor you dread turning up at your home.
