UPDATE: Literally an hour after I posted my 1-star review, Jason Perricone decided it was appropriate to text me, demanding that I remove it. He threatened that if I didn’t comply, he and his 20 staff members (whom he apparently had on hand) would go online and leave negative reviews about me and my business.I assume he Googled me—because he seemingly has nothing better to do—and discovered that I, too, am a business owner in Vancouver, BC. He then went to my business’s Facebook page (Your Neighbourhood Automotive Repair Shop) and left a false 1-star review, despite never having been a customer. He also got his girlfriend, Laura Mueller, and his receptionist, Alyssa Brown, to leave reviews as well—even though they’ve also never done business with me. I suppose they just go along with whatever he says, which is pretty spineless. It’s bizarre to me how people can behave this way, especially when they’ve had no personal dealings with my business.Just a heads-up: DO NOT deal with this guy. He is an absolute joke of a human being, with no respect or integrity. Just look at the other reviews—many people share similar stories.I even had to call the Vancouver Police, as Jason continued harassing me. He called me 10 times after I texted back, asserting that I had every right to leave a review as a paying customer, even if it was several months after my purchase.ORIGINAL REVIEW: These saunas are a joke! Before buying, I called customer service to make 100% sure they were made in Canada. I was told, “Yes, they are 100% a Canadian product.” So, I went ahead with the purchase. When it arrived, the box had “MADE IN CHINA” printed in large letters. I immediately called customer service, and they told me that while the wood is Canadian, the sauna is manufactured in China—and all the electrical components are made in China as well.Feeling misled and frustrated that I hadn’t purchased something fully produced in Canada, I wanted to return it. They told me I would have to cover the return shipping costs, which were around $500.I took my concerns to the owner (I believe his name was Jason), and he was absolutely horrible to deal with. I explained my concerns and told him that if we couldn’t find a resolution, I would leave a review about my experience. He responded by threatening me with legal action for “slandering” his company.(For the record, customers have every right to share their experiences in a review. That’s not slander—maybe he should look up the definition!)It got worse—he personally looked me up online, found out I was a business owner, and began threatening me on a personal level. At that point, I wanted nothing to do with this man or his company. I ended up selling the sauna privately and, luckily, got my money back.Just a fair warning to anyone considering buying a sauna or any products from this guy: be very wary. Check the reviews—I’m clearly not the first person he’s threatened.Absolutely ridiculous. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to work for someone like him.
