Response to the Company’s Reply:I stand by my review. If this company had the professionalism to put half the effort into dispute resolution with clients as they do defensively disputing negative reviews, they would have no issues to defend. Unfortunate missed opportunities for them.To reiterate, my initial concerns were stated clearly and repeatedly. The company chose to go on the defensive (just as they are now) and was simply never interested in correcting the issue for me as the client. The unprofessional tone in their response is exactly the way they responded to my initial feedback. Not surprised. For clarity: I did not ask for— or expect—a brand new resume. I purchased a revision of my existing resume. The only thing that is accurate in their response is that there were no issues with the original resume (why I went back for the update). Unfortunately, the second experience was very similar to all the other negative reviews for this company. They have 8 complaints filed with the WI BBB.What I paid for vs. what I received: I paid $80 for a “revision” of my resume. What I received was five bullets copied and pasted exactly as I provided them—no rephrasing, no improvement. The Career Highlights and Summary sections were not updated to include the new information. What a reasonable “revision” should include: Rephrasing/elevating my bullets for clarity and impact. Integrating recent achievements into the Career Highlights and Summary sections. Delivering edits that reflect the quality advertised for a paid revision. How I tried to resolve it: In my initial instructions, I explicitly asked that my bullets be reworded, not merely inserted. I communicated that a simple copy‑and‑paste does not constitute a revision. I did not receive an apology or a meaningful fix. Inaccurate claims in the company’s response: The claim that I wanted or expected a new resume is false. I requested a revision of my existing resume. The claim that they “tried to get information from me for five weeks” is simply not true and an obvious attempt to offset this review. I provided clear direction at the outset including in my initial feedback upon recieving the "updated" resume. This company has not acknowledged that the delivered work did not meet the standard they advertise. THAT is exactly why I think customers who are in the market should research and choose a company who will stand behind their service. Outcome: I hired a different resume service after this terrible experience (one that is BBB accredited) and THAT company rephrased/improved my original bullets and updated the highlights/summary with my latest achievements. I continue to use and recommend THAT company to this day. Unfortunately, I simply cannot recommend Resume Writing Group. The way they handled the issue was actually worse than the "revision" they tried to pass off.Bottom line: Charging $80 to copy and paste five bullets is simply not a revision - no matter how much this company seems to think it is. It was a poor experience, and the company did not stand behind its work. Also, if you are going to respond to reviews, please base that response on facts and be honest. Try taking responsibility for the situation instead of trying to discredit a client who trusted you. This was such an easy opportunity to correct a bad experience and turn it into a good one but they chose to fail - twice. **Fun fact, I posted this review so long after because I deleted them while cleaning out my bookmarks and remembered that I never left the review they deserved - until today. :)Initial ReviewIt was unusually difficult to find where to leave an honest review; the company does not appear to use Google Reviews, which is concerning. I hired this company to revise my existing resume (not to create a brand‑new one). I supplied five bullet points with professional updates and expected them to be rephrased and integrated. Instead, the final document copied and pasted my five bullets verbatim—no wordsmithing, no recommendations, no added value—yet I was charged for this “revision.” That is not a revision; it’s data entry I could have done myself. When I raised these concerns, the response was defensive and unhelpful. I was effectively told to “go ahead” and leave a review, rather than offered an apology or a meaningful fix. To this day, they have never even admitted that there is a problem with copying and pasted 5 bullets, charging $80 and calling it a revision. They simply didn't deliver the quality advertised. As a result of their poor customer service, I had to hire another company to fix their "work."Bottom line: Based on my experience, I do not recommend this service. If something goes wrong, they do not stand behind their work, and there’s no recourse for the customer. Buyer beware.
