I entered a competition with Revere Competitions Ltd using their advertised free postal entry route, fully in line with their published Terms & Conditions.
I sent three separate postal entries by Royal Mail 1st Class, each in its own envelope, and delivery was confirmed several days before the competition closing date. Despite this, the entries were not acknowledged at all, and only one single entry was eventually added 20 minutes prior to the draw!, with no explanation given as to why the other valid entries were excluded. This is not in line with their own stated rules.
I made multiple attempts to resolve this before the competition closed:
Messages sent via Facebook Messenger were marked as read but never acknowledged
A formal complaint was sent by email and received no response
I was even tagged in their Facebook group, where they post daily, and was still ignored until about 1 hour or so before the draw! and even then it was a "sorry our team will get that checked asap"
At no point was I told whether my entries were received or why only one was added, despite having Royal Mail delivery confirmation. Proof of delivery is different from proof of postage, and I have clear evidence that the entries arrived.
As a customer, it’s very concerning to see a free entry route advertised but not transparently or fairly administered, and even more concerning to be completely ignored when raising the issue politely and formally before the competition ended.
Based on my experience, I would advise caution and recommend keeping everything in writing if you choose to enter.
As I have been unable to resolve this directly despite multiple attempts, I am now raising this matter with the Advertising Standards Authority and other relevant bodies so the administration of the advertised free postal entry route can be reviewed.
