I purchased a Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra in November 2024 and put it into service in March 2025. After about 13 months of use (roughly 2–3 hours per day), the side brush motor failed.

I followed all maintenance recommendations in the app and kept the unit clean. This does not appear to be a maintenance issue.

Support was initially helpful in diagnosing a dustbin clogging issue. Their recommendation to break cleaning into smaller runs did resolve that problem. However, the vacuum still consistently leaves behind visible debris—especially pet hair clumps—even on high suction with no clogs present. At this point, the issue appears to be reduced suction or overall performance decline.

The larger concern is support follow-through. I was told I would receive a callback regarding replacement options, but no call ever came, and subsequent follow-ups were not answered.

For a premium-priced product, I expected better durability, consistent cleaning performance, and more reliable customer support. I will repair the unit myself, but based on this experience, I would not purchase from Roborock again.
