Our first visit to South East Asia and with a 2-day stay pre-cruise in Singapore, it promised to be a nice way to give us a taste, visiting Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.Sadly the weather wasn't too good over the first 5/6 days - but it was the rainy season! Nonetheless, we made the most of it.The staff and food on Celebrity Millennium were absolutely fantastic and this certainly was a huge contributing factor to our enjoyment of the holiday. We sadly missed one port, due to the unfortunate illness of a passenger - but these things happen? It resulted in being at sea 6 of the 10-day cruise - something we'd have to consider very carefully before our next cruise. The final 'sting-in-the-tail' came as a result of the Middle East conflict, effectively marooning us in Singapore, as our scheduled flight home was via Dubai, all cancelled. At this moment, we give MASSIVE thanks to ROL Cruise - who acted promptly, with excellent communication to keep us fully informed. They changed our airport transfer from the cruise terminal to a city centre hotel in Singapore for an additional 3 nights, followed by an alternative flight schedule to get us safely back to the UK. Not the end to our holiday we anticipated (like many others) but we give our wholehearted appreciation to all at ROL who ensured we were looked after as best as you might hope in a period of unexpected calamity.
