Booked for someone to come and fit a front and rear dashcam in my new car and chose RS connect after reading other trustpilot reviews. I wanted the convenience of being able to have it done at home and wanted it done before a long journey. You have to pay in advance which I was a little concerned about as normally you pay for a service after it has been done or maybe half before and half after. When the engineer arrived he asked if I had a hardwire kit. No idea what he was talking about. He explained what it was and I was a little confused as on the website it says "They also have the kit they need to get your dash cam installed" which to me means they provide all the necessary wires etc, but no. Nowhere does it seem to mention the need for a hardwire kit nor was I asked when I booked if I had one, which may have been useful. The engineer said once I got hold of one he would come back and fit it and contacted the lady in the office I had booked the appointment with to explain what had happened and also mentioned it may be useful to mention this when people are booking. She emailed and said to contact her if I needed any help. I asked her if a universal hardwire kit would work with my dashcam and she asked for the make of mine and she would look for me - I received no help from her. As I was unable to get the hardwire kit for the dashcam I had, as was out of stock, I ended up buying a different one along with the hardwire kit. A new appointment was arranged and it was all fitted very professionally. I am pleased with the fitting as much better than having all the wires dangling and relying on the cigarette lighter to power it which is how I had had it in my old car. The engineer was very polite and pleasant. However, I feel for the price the fact that they do not actually have 'all the kit' it is quite a high price to pay, but I needed it done, did not have time to look elsewhere.
