I am very disheartened to have to leave a negative review but I feel I must warn people of this company’s business practices.I contacted Safe Environment for an asbestos sheet removal and a new roof fitted. My initial booking date was set well in advance, with all relevant info, including dimensions for the area of the garage, sent over in the initial enquiry. The fitters turned up on the original installation date of 04/03/2024. The timing of their arrival had been changed multiple times. 7am-11am, then 8am-9am to then finally 11am - 12pm. Arrival time 12:30pm. A little frustrating. It's worth noting that prior to my appointment, the only communication had been from myself contacting them to question both the process of asbestos sheet removal (to check I was happy with precautions being taken) and to understand what was involved in the disposal and reroofing process. The only communication I had from there end was a call from one of their fitters late on the evening of 03/03/2024 to discuss their arrival time, which they didn’t stick to, and for them to ‘ensure they have everything they need for tomorrow’ which they did not. When they arrived, they made a quick assessment of the roof before telling me that they hadn't brought enough roofing sheets with them to complete the job. They suggested fitting the sheets they had and leaving a gap ... which I refused, as they didn't provide any means of covering the gap they would be leaving. I'm glad I didn't give the go ahead as this would have exposed the inside of the garage to the heavy rain that would follow that night. The lack of materials was frustrating as the dimensions had been provided weeks, maybe even months, before hand and I wasted a day off from work to give them access to the property and be ready to move the garage contents back inside upon their completion. The date was rearranged for 3 days later 07/04/2024. After the work was complete the invoice was promptly sent and I received instruction, whilst away from the property, that the payment was to be made on that day. As I was at work, I hadn’t seen the work they had done.I got home to find there was a large amount of debris left on the interior of the garage from their work. Not knowing whether this was asbestos or not, I made sure to put a mask on and cleared the garage of all the excess bits. After this I inspected the roofing panels from the inside. EVERY SINGLE PANEL had some form of damage on it. Large tears in the inside lining of the roof with rust marks showing, a square patch near the entrance to the garage, where you can see weld marks, and a number of other marks deep enough to damage the underside of the metal roof through the felt like material. (Unfortunately, I cannot provide pictures through Trust Pilot to show the full extent of damage). At this point, the inconvenience of having to rebook due to not turning up with enough roof panelling, the rearranging of childcare and the costs incurred and the wasted day of annual leave has left me very upset and angry. Their insistence on same day payment was presumably to receive the money before I could see the panel damage.I sent an email the next day with attached pictures of the damage that was on the underside with instruction that the payment had been made, as requested, but I expected them to rectify the damage they had caused on installation. The least that could be done due to the multiple issues I had had. There was no response to the email.I spent the next week placing calls to Safe Environment requesting a call back from a member of staff who could rectify this issue. Call backs were promised and never happened.I then decided to send Liam Major (Director) an email directly to which I finally received a response to. He insisted that it was what they would consider 'light damage'.As I manage a production team for a manufacturing company, I am aware of light damage of which this was not.I then made contact with 2 roofing companies who work with the same 'DripStop Technology' roof panels along with a distributer of these panels. They were emailed the photos and categorially concluded that this was not ‘light damage’ and voiced concerns about the structural issues and lifespan of the panels with the marks Safe Environment had made.I responded to Liam's email with this information and received neither a response email nor any correspondence from Safe Environment to this date.As of 19/03/2024, 14 days have passed since my letter was received informing Safe Environment of legal action. There has been no response. This has now been escalated through Citizens Advice, Trading Standards and an independent legal team has been assigned to resolve this case.Do not give this company your money before assessing the work they have completed!!! Zero integrity!
