My experience with Safe Ship Moving Services was extremely frustrating overall. We were given a 2 to 14 day delivery window, but our belongings arrived 17 days after pickup. The bigger issue was the lack of communication. We received no proactive updates and only learned about delays, including a truck breakdown, when I repeatedly called for information.
Delivery notice was also problematic. On the day our items arrived, we received only about five hours’ notice, despite being told we would have 24 hours. During my workday as a teacher, I received urgent calls saying that if I didn’t respond within 15 minutes, delivery would be rescheduled. There were also unexpected additional charges after a prior “good faith” discount had been discussed. In addition, one box is missing and a dresser was damaged.
After filing a formal complaint, the customer service agent assigned to our case was professional and responsive. She helped facilitate a $350 refund, which I do appreciate.
However, meaningful resolution only occurred after third-party intervention. Prior to that, I was told nothing further could be done. I was also directly asked to leave a 4- or 5-star review, which I found uncomfortable. Reviews should reflect honest experiences, not requested ratings.
While I appreciate the individual who assisted during resolution, the overall experience prevents me from rating this higher.
