I had a very disappointing and concerning experience with Samsung appliance repair service.
My over-the-range microwave, which was only two years old, became a serious safety hazard on March 21. It began turning on by itself when the door closed, overheating rapidly, and even producing smoke, creating a fire risk in my home.
I contacted Samsung on March 22, and although a technician came on March 27, the repair process completely broke down afterward. I was repeatedly promised follow-up within 1–2 business days, but those timelines were missed multiple times, even after several escalations to management.
Because of a disability, I was unable to move the heavy unit myself. The technician left the microwave sitting on my stove, which made both my microwave and oven unusable for weeks.
Customer service was not helpful and did not provide clear solutions or effective support during the entire process.
To make matters worse, Samsung confirmed in writing on March 24 that they would cover both labor and parts (Case #4184495534). However, when service was finally scheduled, the repair company still attempted to charge a $140 service fee plus additional labor costs and refused to honor Samsung’s agreement.
At one point, Samsung support admitted they did not even have contact information for the assigned service provider, which further contributed to the lack of coordination and delays.
Ultimately, the issue was never resolved. After weeks of delays, safety concerns, and poor communication, I had to replace the unit myself with an LG microwave.
Overall issues:
• Fire hazard appliance left unresolved
• Product failed after only two years
• Missed repair timelines and poor communication
• Multiple failed escalations
• Inconsistent information between Samsung and service provider
• Lack of helpful customer service
• Refusal to honor written cost coverage
• Issue never resolved
This experience was stressful, unsafe, and extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend Samsung’s products or repair service based on this experience.
