I did a marathon trip hitting Karuizawa, Kanazawa, Lake Biwa, Furashiki, Naoshima, Okayama, and Nara in nine days. Everything was clearly outlined, train tickets were prepurchased,and reservations confirmed. She was able to arrange special events like a falconry experience and tea ceremony in Kanazawa. I stayed in ryokans mostly, which are typically tiny and hard to reserve. Because Japan is such a hot ticket, some hotels were not available to travel agents. Adeline had no objection if I snagged a preferred ryokan or hotel reservation through a consolidator, rather than take a room in a less desirable location. Pricing of hotels and activities was transparent and I was able to prepay a lot of it before I left (nice on the credit card), and the rest in Japan. The cost for her services was very fair. I plan to use savor-and-soak for my next Japan adventure.
