I’m writing this review to share my experience so that others can make an informed decision before investing nearly $300 in this HVAC diffuser.
I previously had an HVAC scent diffuser in my home for several years. While refilling it was a hassle (unscrewing bolts and removing tubing every time), it worked efficiently. I decided to upgrade simply to make the refill process easier not because my old system didn’t work.
I’ve used Scentiment oils for a long time and genuinely love them. Their scents are amazing and reasonably priced, which is why I felt confident purchasing their HVAC diffuser. I thought having everything integrated would be a great solution. Unfortunately, the experience has been extremely disappointing.
First, shipping was delayed with no communication. After a month of not receiving my order, I had to reach out for an update. I was told they were experiencing a high order volume. Eventually, it arrived but only after I followed up.
Once installed, I immediately noticed issues with the app. It frequently showed the oil bottle as empty when it wasn’t, struggled to stay connected to the machine, and most importantly, it did not follow the schedule I set. Instead of running during scheduled times, it ran 24/7. Within one week, nearly an entire 500ml bottle of oil was gone. That is not sustainable or affordable.
I attempted to troubleshoot on my own with uninstalling and reinstalling the app, resetting the system, etc. Nothing worked. I contacted customer service again and waited another week for a response. In the meantime, the only way to control the diffuser was to physically plug and unplug it multiple times per day.
After sending videos and photos (as requested), they determined the unit was defective and asked me to send it back. That process also involved delays in communication.
Given the circumstances, I requested a refund. I was told refunds are only allowed within seven days of purchase for HVAC diffusers, despite the fact that I had reported issues immediately. That response came quickly, interestingly enough.
They’ve now had my diffuser for over two weeks. I had to reach out again to ask for an update. I was told diagnosis takes 10–14 business days (a timeframe that had already passed), and on top of that, the model I purchased (covering up to 5,000 sq ft) is currently on backorder until April.
So at this point:
I lost nearly a full 500ml bottle of oil in two weeks due to a malfunction.
I’m out almost $300.
I have no working diffuser.
I’m waiting months for a replacement.
Communication has consistently required me to initiate follow-ups.
This isn’t about unrealistic expectations. It’s about delivery delays, defective equipment, excessive oil waste due to malfunction, limited warranty flexibility, and ongoing communication gaps.
I truly love their oils and will continue using them. But based on this experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering their HVAC diffuser system to read reviews carefully and understand the warranty limitations before purchasing.
I regret not taking the previous reviews more seriously and I hope sharing this helps someone else avoid the same frustration.
