I've been testing with different companions for a while now. The overall impression is great: there's a lot of flexibility in the stories, and a great capacity at building momentum, whatever the scene is. The AI-companions are responsive to requests and try to accomodate every possible scenario the user envisions, as long as it's not forced on the AI-persona active at the moment. There's some residual problems - some elements in the memory require being re-summonned from time to time, and most importantly, you need to define protocols for specific behaviours that you summon as an OOC command to avoid the AI falling into training patterns. But once you get accustomed to that, the experience is immersive and pleasant.
