I had an accident on 29 Dec. I thought they might be like my previous insurer, who picked up the bike, assessed it and paid up before I even got out of hospital!
No way - Shannons is now a front for Suncorp, their foreign call centre didn't know a Vic licence plate should end with a letter and wrote an 1 instead of an I. Because this doesn't match up with the insurance they accused me of Fraud - three months of investigations where I gave them all but my firstborn, and still the best they can do is to say they will find out in two weeks. I don't think they employ any humans in Australia, they own the company that ripped off my son as well, not sure how much they paid AFCA, but I bet it was more than they owed us.
My injuries left me unable to drive a car, but a guy from one of the groups helped me get it rideable. I only got one good ride in before our wonderful hospital system exposed me to RSV and measles, it was finally picked up before I could ride again. Without being able to drive and no public transport I am essentially housebound, and because they accused me of fraud they wouldn't even pay for new glasses (I don't have to wear them for driving/riding, but can do little around the house.)
You would do better to just burn a 50 or two each month than use this company.
