On April 28, I ordered a shed from this company. What should’ve been a routine delivery turned into a bizarre string of excuses, cancellations, and finally—threats from the company’s owner when I left a 1-star review.The shed was originally promised by May 13. When it didn’t show up, I was told May 15, then May 29—but I never received tracking, and the shed was ultimately canceled before that final date.Additional follow-ups brought a bevy of excuses:- It was lost- It was missing a dormer- Possible weather delays- Busy season- Third-party warehouse confusion- Not in stockAfter weeks of failure, I left an honest 1-star review with my personal opinion of the company. In response, the owner began emailing me directly—not to help, but to threaten and insult me.Here are his verbatim quotes:1. “I will come after you for damages.”2. “You will be met quickly with a civil lawsuit.”3. “I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again.”4. “It’s time for you to move on.”5. “You have more problems than a wood shed.”6. “Every company you deal with scams you.”7. “I know who you are.”Next I received a letter from an attorney, demanding that I remove my review.These were direct and inflammatory threats from a company who failed to deliver a product—and then seemingly tried to silence the customer who complained.This type of response may violate the Consumer Review Fairness Act, which protects consumers' rights to express honest opinions about products and services.It may also run afoul of anti-SLAPP laws, which are designed to stop businesses from using legal threats to silence public criticism.I never got the shed.
