I have always bought the white chocolate bags for my Christmas candy making. For some reason, this past few weeks, I’ve bought several bags and it does not melt anymore. It gets hard and grainy. And when I use the microwave directions on the bag, it gets dark brown and develops water. I’ve bought from 2 different stores in the past 2 weeks and it has happened both times. I’ve wasted 6 bags. And some of the bags I bought at the store on HWY 6 N turned kinda yellow, they lost the white color. I still tried to use them but I still got grainy, hard batter with water. I’ve used 2 different double boilers. When I tried to return 2 bags, they didn’t want to take them back and I showed them what happened to some. My husband said that the candy may be old, it’s not fresh. They probably re-dated candy they had left from last year or before. It’s unusual for Candy from different stores to do the same thing. It’s putting a wrench in my candy gifting. Oh well, headed to Michael’s from now on. But just a warning about hobby lobby’s bagged candies, don’t try but 1 bag at a time or yiu will be disappointed. And they don’t like to take it back….hmmmm, wonder why???
