No data protection policies, no security.Weeks of communication. They won't confirm how to delete my data. When I followed there first instructions to close my customer account to have all data deleted under GDPR, I subsequently tested the water and opened a new account only to find they had retained data which they linked to the new one.Don't believe a word they say, even there data protection officer won't respond if you write recorded delivery. They don't care they just want to sell and share your data. They claim they don't sell data, so answer this. In the shop app why do you have an option to opt out of your data being sold and shared?Of course this option is only available if you register an account on the app, but what if I want to buy from a merchant who uses Shopify you say? Well Shopify retain full access to there customer database as verified in there online merchant FAQs.I don't want them to have my data, to sell my data to go anywhere near my data. They claim they only use my data for my benefit but there is no benefit. No benefit can exist where it's good for me if they abuse my data illegally. I have never given them permission to use my data, I have told them again and again they cannot use or access my data, but the moment I purchase through a Shopify merchant I might as well sign away my life as they have access to everything. Even Shopify support agents can't agree on how to delete all data under GDPR.There is a special place in hell for self righteous companies like this that believe they have a divine right to access and use your personal data, whether that be your name and address, contact details, purchase history or more.Key solution to this, never ever purchase through a merchant whose site is run through Shopify as there is no such thing as data protection and Shopify will rape your personal data and do with it whatever they wish. And as mentioned above it's not even as if they have clear working policies in order to have all data deleted, there is no way to get confirmation of what data has being deleted as nobody in there customer service department appears to know. Even their data protection officer isn't willing to communicate. Stay well clear. You have all been warned.I would be happy for Shopify to respond and try to refute this. Please provide some kind of actual evidence and I will be happy to retract and delete the review. Your data protection officer however doesn't even respond as required legally under GDPR, and I can actually provide proof of delivery of the letter and all communications. Unlike Shopify I cover my bases. If they cannot provide proof it's all just more lies.I shall be reporting to the Information Commissioners Office who have expressed interest in taking the complaint further after a 30 day period, and that time is now.
