Please be extremely careful.I opened a Shopify account back in 2018 and have been trying to cancel it since 2019. It is impossible to get hold of anyone - there are of course no phone numbers, the support email address that once existed has disappeared. The closest I can get to help is being sent to a screen with FAQ (frequently asked questions). I have followed the, what would appear to be, simple instructions to freeze my account but they will not allow me to delete it totally. I’ve been in a battle with getting refunded for unauthorized charges for the last two years. Every time I have to provide evidence of my cancellation email that Shopify sent me, before AMEX refund me the charge and then go after Shopify to reclaim the money. Every few months the charges start reappearing on my statement and I have to go through the whole process again. Shopify clearly make it almost impossible to speak to a human or make an email address available for support - it’s all automated.I have seen that the forums are FULL of people who have experienced exactly my situation.In the end Amex had to block them totally, but this has caused issues for me using any other company that uses the Stripe payment method. Please proceed very carefully. Consider wiz or any other merchant with a human available if you need support.2 years of this mess and hours of providing evidence of unauthorized charges .
