Fine in the end, but not without stress.

Upon arrival at Tenerife South I was unsure where to go for my shuttle and my flight had been delayed by 2 hours. I asked at an information desk and was notified of the rendezvous point, then it was quite easy to find the shuttle and got you our accommodation no problem, albeit after several stops at nearby hotels within Playa de las Americas which were within easy walking distance of ours. It was a hassle-free process which was helpful.However, on the return journey things were more stressful. I rang the day before to arrange collection time and place and arrived at the Alexander Gala at least 10 mins before the pickup time. 5 mins after the arranged time, the shuttle had not arrived, so I called the number on the voucher to ask for an ETA. I was asked why I had not phoned the emergency number. My answer was simply that it was only 5 mins late and I did not yet consider it an emergency. I was told it would be another 15 mins as there was heavy traffic. After that time, still no sign of the shuttle so I rang again (this time the emergency number, as my flight time was approaching) and was told there were still lots of hold-ups and they would get to me as quickly as possible. I waited longer and then aas about to book a taxi as I was worried I might not make my flight. I called the emergency line one more time and they said the bus would arrive any minute and would certainly be with me before a taxi, so I held off and the shuttle did eventually arrive, over 30 mins late, by which time I was feeling quite anxious. The driver put me at ease and said he would make up time to the airport and we were then dropped off some 20 mins later, still with plenty of time to get through security and catch our flight home. So all worked out well in the end, despite some stress.
