Absolutely shocking and soul destroying. We paid for 12 person service and committal. “To be performed locally to where the person is at rest.” My husband passed away suddenly. I’m at the funeral director and told if I wanted to be at the cremation I would have to go to Weston super mare, I’m in Swansea. But they could cremate my soulmate at Llanelli and offer us a service at the funeral home. He would be cremated at Llanelli a couple of days later. Once this sank in and I saw the paperwork which said 12 people, small service witness committal I started to ask questions. So! Can just I be at the cremation as I had actually paid for 12, yes if you go to Weston super mare. But he’s being cremated at Llanelli? If you want to be at Llanelli you have to stand on the grass outside! But I’ve paid for 12 people to be here. Yes! If you want 12 it has to be in Weston super mare. I just want to be in the chapel at Llanelli, no service just me being with my love on his final journey! No! In Llanelli you have to be on the grass outside or to be inside it has to be done at Weston super mare! We went round and round! I am totally traumatised at losing my husband unexpectedly, thinking we had a good plan in place only to be treated like an inconvenience by simplicity cremations and their local funeral director Graham Sullivan here in Morriston. Not only do I have to face the loss of my love after 34 years but a full scale argument with simplicity cremation and Graham Sullivan in Morriston. I have been traumatised by their total lack of empathy at such a desperate time for me and my family but I’ve had to demand my money back and go with a company that will allow me to be with my husband on his final journey. Yes! We bought a plan that allowed family at the cremation. No! Simplicity cremation did not honour the contract because how can they cremate him at Llanelli with no one present, but the plan we bought suddenly involved a two and a half hour journey? The company was unsympathetic to my distress and had a IDGAF attitude, the funeral directors where implying I would have to pay more to attend the service at Llanelli even though it clearly states it’s paid for, and the service and cremation was organised before my husbands body or death certificate had been given. Apparently no service or cremation should have been organised without the paperwork. Absolute scammers! I have found a company that will cremate my love at Llanelli crematorium and allow me to be there. (Llanelli crematorium is in no way at fault in this situation)
