I recently tried to open an ISA with the Pinstone Street Sheffield branch. The man behind the counter seemed impatient, spoke very quickly and mumbled and basically tried to fob me off as quickly as possible like he was in a rush. I brought the documents back the week later to ask a couple of questions about the form, then handed it in without enclosing a couple of information sheets as advised by said person, who seemed impatient again and tried to get rid of me as soon as possible. It came back 9 days later saying they were unable to process it due to the info sheets not being enclosed and an unfilled transfer of other ISA form which I didn't fill in as I don't have another ISA! Luckily I went 50 metres up the road to the Leeds building society where I managed to apply over the counter and invest £20,000 with another £20,000 in a weeks time. The Leeds Building Society were very helpful. You could try to emulate them as I;m sure it will be better for business.
