Note that this review is only for the Aiguille Rouge hire shop, as there is at least one other in Arc2000.The staff are helpful enough, but I must warn of our experience of poor quality of rental skis. This shop is used by the large tour operators, such as Crystal and my impression is that this regular feed of customers has resulted in a level of complacency when it comes to quality.Three years ago, one of our party had a screw fall out of the ski binding, resulting in a nasty fall and a long walk home. This year, all was going fairly well with the fresh snow. But when snow became hard packed, there was no grip at all - in fact dangerous. So I got them to resharpen the skis, and they were just the same.We know from our ski holidays in Austria last year how using well sharpened skis allow you to maintain control across all manner of compacted snow and ice.The comment from the staff here was that they do not sharpen their skis to this degree as customers would complain if the skis cut into their gloves, which admittedly we found in Austria, but for me safety is paramount, so unless they offer what I consider safe skis, I will be looking elsewhere.
