I would urge anybody who is thinking about booking ski gear in advance online with Skiset not to do so. Aside from having some ski shops in resorts, they are an online portal which connects you to local ski shops. One of their main offers is that they pretend to give you a discount. Firstly they do not offer a discount - you can get the same price in store if you ask. They also take a significant cut from the independent stores and withhold payment from them for quite a while. Secondly by booking with them you take a far greater risk than booking in resort as you lose your standard consumer rights (ability to change / cancel booking) unless you can prove serious injury via an expensive medical certificate. In short, they impose onerous conditions on the consumer which independent ski stores, who allow you to pay at the end of the week, never do. So if you only choose or are able to ski for two days out of six, you will lose the money for the other four days. Thirdly there is often no relation between what you order and pay for online and what you get in the independent store. Fourth, the customer support is shocking. It is staffed out of Paris where the local idea of customer service is telling the customer to go take a hike (merci bien Thibault), so if you have a problem, it won't get resolved. Please, please, just contact the local ski shop in advance via email if you are going skiing, check the prices, book direct and don't let shark online companies like Skiset ruin the holiday experience for you.
