Experience In Chamonix, The “premium” skis they rented to me fell apart after 1 day of use and then they try to charge me €800 for 1 ski at the end of the season.
I feel pretty pissed off as I had noticed signs of lamination at the start of the days rental, but didn’t think much of it and continued skiing.
I asked the *blonde lady with glasses* to see how many times the skis had been used before on the system to see if it would be an under warranty with Dynstar or if I was just the “straw that broke the camels back” after 20 uses. She was very reluctant to share this information and called me a “bad person”. Maybe something to hide on the system!
I looked up how much the skis cost to buy online and they are €400 for 2 skis.
*The lady with Blonde hair and glasses* is getting visibly angry with me because she cant provide any evidence and ends up pointing to some bogus information, but looks like there are over 12 lines.
So we have a little breather and I come back later, and the discussion continues. We agree that they call the Gendarmerie because I am not paying €800 for a ski I didn’t damage.
The Gendarmerie only speak French to the ski rental shop and find a middle ground of €500.
As I leave *the lady with blonde hair, a bad attitude and glasses* said “I hope you break your legs on those skis”. I question what she said because that is abhorrent to suggest that I break my legs, and she quickly changes her message. Gendarmerie don’t seem too fussed.
Skiset feel free to give me a call. Got some questions to answer in Chamonix.
