When we bought our new skoda kodiaq mark 2 . 2025 . We asked before ordering the car can we have a towbar fitted we were told yes no problem as the car has towbar prep. We explained there were sites on the Internet saying u can't. But when we asked the question again we were told by the garage we haven't heard anything. So we went and had a towbar fitted with dedicated wiring but then was told they can't code it so we went back to the garage we bought it from we are now being told they can do it but we have to have a dedicated skoda towbar and wiring. We were not told this before we bought it now skoda want to charge me 1800 for the skoda towbar what a joke I feel that due to them not telling us when we bought the car we couldn't fit a 3rd party towbar I wouldn't have had the skoda one . I have a expensive caravan I can't tow and a new car that is totally useless for what we bought it for . I feel its only fare skoda give me a towbar and wiring as this is not our fault we have had the car from new and this situation has been going on since September 2024 . Keep being told they are waiting for the codes but this is not true at all .
