My balance was paid off after my April pay - it took 3.5 weeks for the student loans company and HMRC to notice this and they did not send a stop notification to my employer so I had a incorrect deduction of £1,065 taken from my May payslip. After another 3 weeks of speaking to HMRC and Students loan (17 calls and over 6 hours on the phone waiting) they finally agreed I had overpaid and I received my refund. I have checked with my employer and they have not received a stop notification to take student loan deduction off my payslip for June despite agreeing that my balance is zero and paying a refund for my overpayment - I am now in a position where for a second month in a row I am going to have a deduction of >£1,000 incorrectly and leave me out of pocket. I don't understand why they have not sent a stop notification and they will now not answer my phone calls....
