Let me start by saying that my child’s sleep has improved; however, I think there are some flaws in the Sleeping Bunnies approach. The entire approach is based on children being ‘overtired’. I can see that this is the case for lots of children, BUT it doesn’t take in to account those children who genuinely don’t need as much sleep as others. I found it stressful to be told each week that my child ‘must’ be overtired and wasn’t getting enough sleep. He is 2.5 and I was told he needed 13-15 hours of sleep per 24 hours. Another solution was no nap but with sleep onset at 5.30pm which is totally bonkers. Some of the tips and tricks were helpful, but the most useful thing for me was holding myself accountable by using the sleep tracker, identifying trends, and ultimately knowing my boy best. I really don’t like being negative, but it’s an awful lot of money to spend to feel like you are repeating yourself each week and challenging the consultant on alternative methods, other than those related to overtiredness.
