This complaint has nothing to do with the bed but rather Slumber Source & its owner Todd Cook - DO NOT BUY FROM HIM!Our family purchased the UP BED ($5k) for my newly sick father diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and who was already suffering multiple level compression fractures up his lumbar and thoracic spine & who was unable to get out of bed as a result. We received the bed, it was installed against protocol (bed sells to left open, owner TODD COOK said it only can function this way, installers evaluated room and said must be installed to open on the right side). My dad was hospitalized for almost 2 weeks essentially paralyzed, bed ridden and needed emergency back surgery. A family member tested the bed for a moment to see how it operates and immediately noticed when you raise the bed to an incline it felt as though a pressure was exerted on the lower spine - an area where my dad was already experiencing debilitating pain with a broken level. We don’t know why this was. We contacted Todd to advise and he said no returns. I am attorney and when I wrote him to follow he called me and cursed me out (b*itch, f***, sh*t), he did however claim he treats his customers like family and would accept the return and work with us to get the bed back. After making this representation he called my uncle (who originally called him to complain about the bed) to leave harassing and aggressive voicemails- again cursing, then he backtracked on the return, I again wrote him and told him I was so disheartened that he could treat a sick family with this behavior and he agreed again to accept the return less re stocking fee (but was spewing nonsense about NY governor - why is this relevant??), again to follow he backtracked on the return. BEWARE AND DO NOT BUY! THE OWNER DOES NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS + YOU WILL NEVER GET A RETURN EVEN IF HE REPRESENTS MULTIPLE TIMES TO GIVE YOU A RETURN... DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY OR RENT A HOSPITAL BED FROM A LOCAL MEDICAL SUPPLY STORE !! BEWARE AT ALL COSTS - this is the absolute LAST thing a family dealing with a sick cancer patient should ever have to endure. I feel taken advantage of as we were so desperate and vulnerable to spare no expense to get a bed for my sick father with a broken back - never would I EVER have expected how the OWNER who handles customer service would act here... STAY AWAY!!!!
