We own 2 retract a gates. We switched from the old style metal gate to these and haven’t looked back. They are simple to install, safer and have a much smaller footprint than our metal gate. I like that you can remove the whole system quickly and that it provides a lot of flexibility for installation. It’s also worth supporting American made and owned companies. 🇺🇸 Highly recommend!
Retract-a-gate is easy to use, very safe, and all the while being very aesthetically pleasing to look at! I have looked at many retractable gates and a lot of them have reviews that they break after installation. For your baby's safety it is not worth the risk to buy a cheaper poorly built gate! I love that it is durable, and looks so nice in a space. I also love that it can be left rolled up if you don't need it, and you hardly notice it!
Absolutely delighted with Retract-a-Gate at Flowery Dell Lodges! It's incredibly easy to use for our guests, providing both convenience and safety. Installation was a breeze and so easy, and the sleek design means it discreetly hides away to the side when not in use, there’s also no bottom bar to trip over at the top of the stairs. A wonderfully easy and efficient product – can highly recommend, we’re so pleased with it we’ve just ordered another 7!!
I bought a gate in September 23 last year and was very happy with it. In fact, I wanted to install it in a second location but needed some additional hardware. I went to their website to order some new hardware and they informed me that they came out with a new gate design in March 24 and no longer support the "old" design. I bought the gate ~6 months ago and they no longer offer hardware for the old design? I would not recommend buying based on this experience.
I have purchased four gates from them over the last five years, and we're actively using all of them. The flexibility of being able to cover odd corners, etc. makes them far superior to any other gate. They also are entirely intrusive when retracted. It's the best gate in the market, hands down.I recommend them to all my friends and family. And when I've reached out to the smartretract they've been super helpful every time.
I was going through some old emails and realised that we have now had these gates for over 8 years. We purchased 4 of them, with 2 in near daily usage for the past 8 years. None of them has ever given us the slightest bit of trouble in operation and they work as well now as when first installed. I think the testament to ease of operation (and discreteness) is where other parents have been in a hurry to remove their child gates, we have been happy to leave ours in place. We have highly recommended these to other parents and pet owners, and they were the only solution to one particularly awkward (and large) gap.Many thanks to SmartRetract for an excellent product with many years of faithful service!
We have bought from Retract A Gate in the past and didn't hesitate to buy there again. Unfortunately our pup damaged the new gate... within 48 hrs of my email Josh gave me options and I had a replacement gate delivered free of charge - exceptional service, highly recommended
We got Smart Retracts retractable baby gate to help our toddler stay in the living room while we were cooking in the kitchen. Having a gate that retracts is so convenient, the alternative would be having a huge immovable gate blocking our living room 24/7. This gate works very well. The materials are high quality. Mounting the gate is straightforward. The gate itself retracts well and the gate mesh material is strong (it's survived our toddler hanging on it!). Overall, a quality investment with a very helpful customer support team.
I have to say that Retract A Gate has some of the best customer experience I have encountered- on par with big retail companies known for their customer experience. They were easy to reach (a human no less!), fast shipping, quality product and 1:1 support. I would highly recommend this company.
Brought two dog gates far more money than any others but they are made for the job apparently. Our cockapoo managed to get under the one we were using in the kitchen and stretch the material even though its always been locked properly. I messaged and was told to check fitting which is perfect, then in the last 3 weeks shes now ripped all the bottom into a hole so she can just push right through it. We had a second one upstairs which is never used so swapped it over, took 5 days to do the same thing so both ruined. Just not tough enough, asked for replacements and they were no help at all. Now the price is up to £135 each for them! so £270 for two gates that havent done the job is insane. If they had offered to replace one of them fair enough as clearly make a fair bit on these but nothing. If they dont guarantee they are better than the £30 ones out there may as well but yourself the cheaper ones as they will work just as long. We dont even leave our dog alone or she would have probably got through even faster.
