Smith & Byford are one the the worst so called Gas Engineer companies, I have ever experienced, if not the worst!My combination Boiler has been faulty now for 8 weeks, and the problem still haven't been resolved. Normally when the Engineer attends my property on the first visit, it's just an inspection, and they might attempt to fix the fault!In my case they visited the property, inspected the Boiler and told me that they have to order new parts to be fitted!Upon the second visit the same engineer spent 30 minutes fixing the Boiler, and after he left the fault was still there. The third visit the sent the same Engineer and this time he spent approximately 45 minutes fixing the Boiler and giving me the impression that he's an expert, pin pointing what the problem was! After his second attempt, I contacted Smith & Byford and told them not to send that same Engineer around anymore. Yesterday another Engineer came around and he said that the previous Engineer didn't change any parts or anything!He reassured me that he will resolve this issue by next week. Now I have read a few reviews before I began writing my own, and what other people have said regarding, Engineers lying and saying that they have attended the property is true, because I have experience that myself!Also they do string customers along with appointment cancellations, empty promises, and the inconsiderate attitude, towards not caring about making other peoples, lives inconvenient!In some cases people make huge sacrifices, to stay in their homes for Smith & Byford to attend property, and they either show up and don't resolve the issue, or not show up at all.You would also know when they are lying because even if they did try to access your property, they suppose to leave a card filled out will all relevant information, as evidence, that they did attempt to gain access to your property!
