I bought two SmoothSpine cushions (one for a friend, one for myself). There was a malfunction: In the Manual Mode, when using the vibration Function, the cushion would shutdown after only two minutes of operation. All other Modes and Functions would each operate for 30 minutes before shutting down. After some troubleshooting, I discovered a Power Adapter was bad. For some unknown reason, it could not support the power requirements for operating only the Vibrator in the Manual Mode. Final results: Both SmoothSpine cushions worked perfectly with a known good Power Adapter. I would greatly appreciate one each replacement Power Adapter.
That being said… I’m still giving this SmoothSpine cushion a five star rating. The SmoothSpine cushion I received looked exactly as advertised. It looks well made and very comfortable. The Auto Mode runs for 30 minutes. It cycles through vibration, stretching while maintaining heat throughout the Auto Mode. Within that 30 minutes it goes through about 7 cycles. When stretching, an air cushion rises approximately 2 inches providing for a good stretch of the vertebra. In the Manual Mode you can select one of three Functions: Vibration, Stretching, Heat. Each of these three Functions operate for a 30 minute cycle. It should be noted during the Vibration Function, there are vibrating pads that are very comfortable. They are NOT hard balls that massage the muscles. A person can regulate the degree of overall vibration/stretching intensity by using it on the floor or on a bed. The bed gives oneself a less intense workout. Don’t overdo in the initial use of the SmoothSpine cushion. I overworked things the first time I used the cushion and I was sore for a few days. It was a surprise to me as to how much effect it was actually providing.
I bought the SmoothSpine cushion to help me correct my posture. I’m a 79 YO male that walks stooped over from too much sitting or laying on the couch. This SmoothSpine cushion is helping to loosen the tight tendons and muscles in my pelvic area, lower back and along my spine so that I may correctly stand straighter. It is working for me. I am very pleased with my purchase.
