Amazing! Breathtaking! Wonderful! Gorgeous! Awesome! Phenomenal! I struggle to find adjectives that can adequately describe the splendor of this Snorkel Venture snorkel safari. I planned and saved for this as the trip of a lifetime so I could visit healthy reefs and experience the world’s healthiest coral reef ecosystem. The trip was all that and more. I had no idea how luxurious the trip would be nor that I would receive personalized world class white glove service from the moment I arrived in Bali. Wakatobi sent a rep to meet me as soon as my plane landed and at each transfer point to make sure that my travels were smooth. Marcus, our fabulous tour leader, is very attentive to the needs and whims of each guest and generous with his knowledge and talent. It was a huge bonus that he shared his beautiful photos with us and helped me become a better diver and photographer all while being ridiculously charming, entertaining and authentic. I am super sensitive and lost my sunglasses while we were snorkeling. Marcus even gave me the sunglasses off his face to protect my eyes. Bernita is fantastic at crafting a tailor made dream vacation. The Wakatobi restaurant manger and staff are very attentive and eager to cater to our dietary needs and culinary desires. Mali, our local guide, provided service beyond anything I could have imagined. He made my dream of finding Nemo come true. I am still processing all the other sea life I saw and even accused Marcus of dosing us because the things I saw only made sense as hallucinations or a trip through Alice’s looking glass but he assured me that the puffy cobalt blue sea star I fell in love with is indeed real as are the trippy psychedelic clam, nudibranchs?!? Octopi, and even the Crocodile fish that Galen of tropicalsnorkleing.com kindly told me about. I was so overwhelmed I told him- thanks, but i have seen a few already like this is all routine. The coral and sea life I saw are still blowing my mind and I am so glad that they told me that my trip will help with reef conservation efforts. I may have to live 2 lifetimes so I can take another once in a lifetime trip to the Coral Triangle with Snorkel Venture and Marcus. Note to my fellow high maintenance, disabled and highly sensitive people: the humidity is brutal (UV Index=13) and there is no AC in the restaurant or Long House (limited AC in bungalow) and a no shoes rule with a lot of hot sandy trekking between them. I was able to mitigate this by making some adjustments and requesting accommodations including a floor fan/cooler, daily ice bucket and to wear shoes to limit foot and spine damage (thanks again, Marcus and the staff for being so accommodating). The resort is over-the top wonderful and most people loved everything about it without my issues. I just wanted to share my insights since I would have appreciated reading this before I went. Summary: 10 stars out of 5! Thank you to everyone involved!
