My application was denied based on my past from 22 years ago and my epilepsy, despite having a supportive family network. They continuously assert their desire to keep families together but never gave my son and daughter-in-law a fair chance. My grandson is now in care due to various circumstances. I have lost trust in the social services entirely. Now, my partner and I can only view photos of our grandson, missing out on significant milestones like his first steps and teething. My advice is to seek legal representation if social services approach you, as many of their staff seem inexperienced and overly judgmental. I strongly recommend avoiding these local services.
