Great drone show, poor warm-up acts

If I were purely rating the drone part of the show and not the evening as a whole, this would be a 5/5 review. The show was well choreographed, immersive and had a basic but well narrated story to go alongside it. The entertainment before the drone show was not great and felt like more of an excuse to get people in early to provide enough trade to justify the fairground rides and expensive food. Granted it was a very cold evening and it must have been hard for the performers, who were not really dressed for outdoors, but it was a odd decision to put on a totally uncovered outdoor stage for an event in March. Had it rained then I assume there would've been no entertainment at all before the drone show.On-site food was expensive (£9 for doughnuts, £4.50 for a hot chocolate, £7.50 for a beer) so we begrudgingly opted to pay the additional "bring your own picnic" surcharge, mainly because it was the only way to bring in a camping chair. Ironically, we would've spent more money at the event if chairs were allowed without an additional fee as we wouldn't have brought our own picnic!I was aggrieved to have to pay £7 for parking when you essentially have no choice but to park. Public transport to the showground is very poor except for major event days like The Lincolnshire Show, when there are dedicated services running. Parking was at least well organised on the way in, with plenty of attendants to guide drivers to a parking spot. Unfortunately, although not uncommon with events at the showground, they all seemed to have disappeared come leaving time and it was essentially a free for all to get to the exit. The only attendant that I saw doing anything for vehicle traffic as we left was the one at the main gate to direct two flows of traffic.Would consider going again but wouldn't bother turning up early for the music acts. Just about worth the money for the drone show, if you have a full car and can justify £7 to park.
