The actual light show was beautiful. It was a lovely story and the drones were magical. I would love to see it again. However, due to winds, the show went from being “around half an hour after sunset” (when I booked it) to 7.30, then 8.30 (as we were told on the day) and then it didn’t actually start until around 8.45. If I had known if was going to be so late, I wouldn’t have booked it for my 5 year-old, especially the night before the clocks go forward, as it took a long time to leave the showground. There was no opportunity to be reimbursed so we felt trapped into going even though it was so late. There was a nice atmosphere on the showground with some rides and stalls, but we ended up spending a lot on kiddie rides to entertain a child well after bedtime. There were only two stalls selling hot drinks, even though it was a cold March evening in a venue almost everyone had to drive to, and those queues were around 45 minutes long so we gave up. If this were to run again, I would hope to find more hot drinks available and perhaps a wider range of stalls to keep people occupied.
