When I arrived in the house, the toilet was not flushing, and the shower was not draining, which took days to fix. The shower drain was a recurrent issue, which I eventually had to fix myself by buying a plunger. These are issues you do not expect when you are paying upwards of £1k per month for a room.On checking out, they claim they will refund your deposit within 10 working days. 12 working days had passed before I contacted them to ask for my deposit, and it took them an extra 2 days to release it. I had overpaid my rent (my mistake), so, instead of giving me my money back and then file their claims with the deposit agency, they went around having to dispute these claims by first refunding me the whole deposit and then retaining these charges from the money I overpaid them.At this point they tried to find anything to charge me from your deposit. First, there is a £49 "Room handover fee" which is simply a HIDDEN CHARGE, which I am given to understand is no longer allowed by law but hey, I signed that abusive contract before that law passed. Then there was the issue of the door security hinge, which was broken when I moved in, and I sent them photos of this as soon as I arrived. They still tried to charge me for it until I disputed it and told them to go through their emails.I left some free coathangers in the wardrobe and two new pillows for the next tenant. None of these items were provided to me when I arrived, and I thought the next person would appreciate them.Their response to this? THEY CHARGED ME £35 for "disposing of these items" and then justified it with the vague wording in the clearly abusive contract they make you sign.Essentially, expect incompetence and endless hidden charges. Almost like Ryanair, if Ryanair was also very expensive.Learn from my mistake and avoid them at all costs.
