Had the op 2 yes ago on both eyes , it lasted 2 yrs before the right eye started clouding over , Followed by the left eye , this time I had the pre op and elderly woman said look at the screen , I said I can't see it , the test starts with the large letter first I said I can't see it but she just carried on after the tests I then asked the 30 something on the front desk how long before the op , all she said was I don't have any listings , at that point I gave up .
I'm 78 live alone stopped driving , but had to use my mobility scooter to get some food , with no periteral vision I hit a set of concrete steps damaging my scooter .
Today phoned up to see when I would get the op and told 5 th of June so more months .
When phoning your meter with a robot who keeps telling you , you can go on line , The fact that you can't see a screen does not come into it , your then told to get a call back , problem is you waited for 10 + minutes for anybody to answer the phone and if nobody is there to answer the phone who is going to call you back .
I asked a out transport but was told 8 would have to go onto a list , I declined that one as she said you did not have transport before .
There was also problems with finding out about my second referral , first time I called I was told they don't have it so I had to check with Specsavers they said that had , then checked with the doctor they said they sent it on , they seem to have admin problems .
This time I asked if they got it and it was another long wait on the phone before they said oh yes we have it . I asked for a date for the op on on my left eye but was told I would have to wait until my right eye op had been done , so although they have all of the tests anyway they would not give a date for that one .
It would seem there are a lot of people who had the op but it did not last and they had to go back for another op .
Over all taking into account I can't read my mail or a watch or a screen without a magnifying glass and can't drive or use my scooter I was expecting them to be more helpful about dates and transport , So now hoping they don't cancell my o
Coming op in June as they do seem to do last minute cancellations .
As is I will keep taking my letters down town for the citizens advice to read for me !
If there are any mistakes it's because I can't see without using a magnifying glass .
