I love the Speak More Clearly course. The weekly group meetings with Jake make a big difference, and his attention to detail is excellent. If you put in the time and effort, you’ll definitely see results—highly recommend.
Speak more clearly is a like family that grows with u and tries to understand your challenges with language mastery wrt to the accent training. I specifically like how it changed and incorporated better ways to communicate with the students. Earlier it was essentially an app based program which was nicely structured instructional videos and exercises. But now it has grown more and included better communication via other paltforms like whatsapp and google meet. I want to mention specifically regarding our wonderful teacher Ms Holly whose efforts i am thankful for. Eventhough i am unable to attend the classes because of my work timings. I still am able to go through her voice recordings and practice. I am also thankful for the efforts of the background team who coordinates the schedule and communications etc. I wish the community grows stronger and everyone benifits and becomes a better version of ourselves that we aspire to be..
This program has given me so much more confidence at my job. As a native Chinese speaker, I always found it difficult to distinguish between the 'l' and 'r' sounds, and it was so frustrating when people couldn't understand what I was saying. When giving work presentations, I purposefully tried to avoid saying words with a lot of 'l' and 'r' sounds, and this made me lack confidence. After using this program for about 8 months, I can now clearly hear the difference between those sounds and produce them accurately myself! It has made the world of difference because I no longer have to worry about whether other people can understand me, and my colleagues have commented on how much more confident I am when speaking English now. Each time I hear these compliments, I feel ecstatic. I would pay 10 times the price of these courses for that peace of mind.
Please do not use them. I have booked an accent course with them and they are now charging me annual fee. I never leave bad reviews but they were so dishonest.When I book an accent reduction course with any language provider, I am booking a course not a yearly membership. I booked a course with them, I did not book a membership but they start charging you automatically because it is in the terms and conditions. But what terms of conditions are these that you need to do the same course every year. I use many yearly membership programs, like Duolinguo but with these services we buy a service and the right to use it, we don’t buy a course. With SMC we buy a course but you pay for the course and then comes a membership fee?!
