If there was a 0, I would have given it. We got in because they offered loans for SMSF's - and have been regretting it since. In the end, we have had to re-purchase properties from SMSF to save ourselves. Even after that, getting service from St George is simply impossible. We have been living overseas for the last couple of years and 6 months ago we lost access to our account - due to St George's data breach. We called 4 times - twice we got disconnected after nearly 2 hours on hold, once we run out of credit after an hour and a half and the last time we simply hung up after 2.5 hours on hold. Due to time difference we had to wake up at 4am to be able to fit within AEST work hours. 2 weeks ago we were contacted (by email) to verify our company's details. I used this opportunity to exhange email with a live person, who offered to make a scheduled call to discuss our experience. I responded straight away and offered time slots - that was more than a week ago with no further correspondence from the person who initially contacted me (Andrew Alabaster – if that is his actual name and not a bot).So, if you can, stay away and select a different Australian bank.
