My experience with Suburban Propane, Timmonsville went from bad to awful. A 325 gal underground tank. Starting with a very poor and faulty installation, too many couplings in the line, depth of the installation and use of various sizes tubing. I don't know when the leaks started but a few years after installation the line had to be removed and a new one installed for which they attempted to charge me. Also each year they try to slip in a rental fee and I have to produce my contract each year to prove I have no rental fee. Their prices are double of other propane companies, they charge to check for gas leaks, there is a delivery charge even if your tank is full and they don't add any propane. I have been a customer about 15 years but after speaking to no so friendly customer service and then being charged $5.399/gal on my last delivery, I finally made the decision to rid myself of Suburban and have the tank removed. The charges they tacked on for that were outrageous. They did compensate me for the fuel but deducted $100. close out fees, $243. Pump out fee, $14. other fees, and also to add insult to injury, a $10. late payment fee which I feel I did not owe. My current supplier is a pleasure, they are courteous, they dug up the old suburban tank and installed a new tank. Did a nice clean up. Rates are less than half of what Suburban was charging.
