Sustainable Change is a programme that works.

My biggest win with Sustainable Change is getting my sense of self back. I did this by attending Alex live sessions, Mish’s exercise sessions and a variety of clinics. All have given me motivation and support to follow the programme. My coach, Jock, gives me daily and weekly challenges, and seeing the weekly report shows how far you’ve come. Lots to focus on, and lots of encouragement. Early June 2025 I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Embolism, blood clots in my lungs. I went from being overweight, but reasonable fit, to stuck in a chair and struggling to move. I was visiting my family 5 hours drive away from my home. It took 3 weeks of anti coagulants and total rest before I was transported home. I could not lift anything, I walked so slowly and had no energy, even sitting was uncomfortable. My independence had gone and I was grateful for the care I received. Before this I had been a regular swimmer a few times a week, I had been a keen walker, completing the coast to coast in 2022. I would canoe and paddle board. My life changed overnight. Once home rest continued. I occupied myself with reading and colouring, which focused my mind on something I enjoyed.Alex popped up on Face Book and caught my eye. I thought this programme could help me to get well and get my life back on track. I joined the programme While still resting I focused on everything that came along from my coach and live sessions. I am on week 5 of the programme. 12 weeks on from getting ill.I have started walking short distances and reading motivational books, discovering calories and healthy meal plans. Jock my coach found exercises that I could do without agrivating my lungs. He was so encouraging even though I was depressed from being unwell. He was in regular communication and has led me through a tough time, I have learned so much from his guidance and reassurance. I now feel that I am starting to see a future for myself. Gradually increasing exercises, eating healthily, and a changed mindset. I look back over my weekly wins, my Why’s and my affirmations and I am progressing in all areas of my life. To anyone considering joining the Sustainable Change programme I would encourage you to do so. It has been a life changer for me. Alex live is so full of information and encouragement. The live comments from other members really make me feel like one of the family. Sharing is the feel good factor.I have read The Miracle Morning from the reading list. By Hal Elrod. The book tells of transforming adversities into opportunities, no matter what your life is like right now. Take responsibility for actively creating the life you want. I know this is the ethos of Sustainable Change and I am so glad Alex popped up and caught my eye.My life is getting towards a good path and I know that with the Sustainable Change team and my coach Jock. I can make my life what I want it to be.
