Title: Lack of Compassion and Accessibility for Sick CustomersI placed an order with Sweetgreen, and after paying, the app informed me my salad would only be ready for pickup at 1:50 PM. I immediately contacted customer service to ask if it could be delivered, and if not, to please issue a refund. I was told the order was already “in progress,” so no refund could be given.I explained that I am a cancer patient currently undergoing treatment, and I am not physically able to come inside to pick up food. I even suggested using an Uber courier to collect the order, if staff could simply hand it to them outside. Customer service flatly told me no, and that I would need to “call the store directly.” However, they could not provide me a working phone number, and the one listed online only redirects back to the same customer service I had just spoken to.This left me with no option to access food I paid for, and no compassion shown for my circumstances. For a company that promotes health and wellness, this was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Accessibility and empathy matter—especially when dealing with customers who are sick or disabled. Sweetgreen needs to do better.
