Having decided we wanted a chesterfield-style sofa, and ideally one hand made by a small company in the UK, we’d talked a bit about it and done a bit of unfocused googling. My Facebook algorithm must have picked up on this, because it duly presented me with a promoted ad for S.W. James. Usually I’d have ignored it, but the pictures looked exactly like we wanted, so against my better judgement I had a look at the website. We were spoiled for choice and the prices were lower than I expected, but still not trusting a Facebook ad we decided that a visit to the showroom would probably be in order. Unfortunately, it isn’t exactly local to us, and being constantly busy we just couldn’t find time to make the journey. After much deliberation we decided to chance it and order a large two seat Archie unseen, and what a good decision it turned out to be! After choosing our leather from samples sent through the post, things quickly started to happen. The order process and communication was excellent as we were regularly kept up to date with progress on our sofa.Then, nine weeks after the initial order, we received news that our sofa was ready and would arrive the following week. The delivery drivers were great, and we all breathed a sigh of relief when Archie squeezed through the door without a millimetre to spare.When unwrapped and seen for the first time, the sofa exceeded all our expectations. It fits perfectly into the space created for it, is wonderfully comfortable and of course looks beautiful. However, this immediately gave us a problem. Archie looks so good in his new home that he puts our other furniture to shame, so following another quick measure up we decided that we wanted a “snuggler”-sized sofa to go with him. A quick look on the website revealed that there isn’t a snugger Archie in the range, but the following morning I rang Warren who told me that they could make one no problem at all. Money changed hands again, and with a minimum of effort our second order was made and we are now looking forward to the arrival of a little brother for Archie in plenty of time for Christmas. So I’m conclusion, the website, order process, communication, delivery, price and of course the sofa itself were all superb. Would recommend.
