I didn’t subscribe to this company, yet somehow they took 3 “subscription” payments of £34.90 through ApplePay, so have clearly piggybacked onto something else. The company number on their website relates to a marketing company “Telenex Limited”, a marketing company. It is impossible to get through on any listed phone number, but I found the confirmation email in my spam folder and identified an email address for their customer service team. Their response tried to suggest that they only took money by me going through a 2-step verification process to sign up and authorise payment, which I most certainly didn’t. It was also unclear what good or service they were even supposedly providing. They refunded my money without too much fuss (although I had to chase for 2 of them and they never admitted any liability) and cancelled my “subscription”. I had threatened to report them to the fraud team at my bank but, in reality, as I got my money back and it was overall a small value, the bank would not have followed up anyway. This is how operations like this get away with it.
